April classroom work

I know that I set up this blog and then don't put anything on it for a while but I have not been well and have had some time off work.
I thought I would share some pictures of the work my first graders have been doing over the last month.
We worked on our writing skills around Dr Seuss's birthday, we watched the old version of the Lorax on you tube and after a discussion on how this relates to the environment we wrote about what we would do with the last Truffula seed.
We wrote about what they would do if Thing 1 and Thing 2 came to their house and made a craft with thing 1 and 2 in a net.

In Mathematics we are learning about Data collection and we graphed the colour of everyone's eyes.

Back to school on Monday, we are learning about adjectives next so I think we will be having lots of fun with work on popcorn adjectives, adjectives about my best friend and myself and how to blow a bubble ( all these great ideas from great teachers out there in blog land)

  1. Hi Sam,
I just love the eye colour graphing activity, especially the way you have displayed the data! You have linked it so well to the Australian Curriculum & made it easy for the children to see how to represent one data value using pictures/drawings.

Well done & thanks for sharing!
